Ever since the inception of the brand, Shahnaz Husain has been actively involved in giving back to the society.
Throughout her entrepreneurial journey, Shahnaz Husain has remained committed to social causes and towards empowering the underprivileged. The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility was not in her mind when she started her career. However, she has fulfilled this responsibility to a great extent while pursuing her dreams. She believes that for a corporate or business organization, contributing to a social cause should not be a one-time affair. There should be long-term and sustained commitment towards the betterment of society.
Shahnaz Husain’s International Beauty Academy dedicates itself to social causes and has shown immense commitment towards empowering the physically challenged – the speech, hearing, and vision impaired. The training dispensed at her institutes opens the door to several career opportunities for these individuals.
Shamute was started in 1984 and inaugurated by the then President of India, Giani Zail Singh. Since then, Shamute has trained hundreds of students and even helped them find employment in Shahnaz Husain salons and other salons. Shasight came into existence later, and it promises to become an integral part of Shahnaz Husain’s commitment to social causes.
The individuals, who are speech, hearing, or vision impaired, succeed in securing employment as they are gifted with higher sensory perception. It enables them to devote extra attention to pressure points during massages, which is an advantage.
The institute was established to facilitate career opportunities for the physically challenged. Today there are four-month courses round the year with fifteen students per batch. Free of cost, the courses are open to everyone, subject to availability.
